Generate Random #

Hello,

I am working on a "work order request" project.  Once the form loads, is it possible to have the Work Order # field auto populated with a random # within a predetermined starting # like 500101.  I am fairly new to Quickbase & I'm on hour 4 @ 5:41AM trying to figure this out.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Can you explain why you want a "Random" #?  if you want to number your work orders starting at 500,000, just use the [Record ID#]. 

    You can either use a formula like 500000 + [Record ID#] or else you cn use excel to import 500,000 dummy records and then delete them.  The Record ID# field only counts up so note that once you roll foward the Record ID, you cannot easily reset it.

      Thank you for the advice..  like I said.. I'm fairly new to quickbase..  still learning..
