I don't know what a "QOL request" is, but I believe that completely understand what you're trying to do. Peter sent this up with a very nice user experience. The user would c;ick a button to launch off of an employee (ie, User) record and land on a report of Unassigned Equipment. And they would click as many buttons on each respective equipment record they want and on each click the equipment record report would refresh with one less record showing as that piece of equipment will have been assigned to that user so it's no longer on the sign. Then the user would click on a button on that report to return to the user record and be able to see all of the assigned equipment.
This involves what I called the User Focus technique and it's a little bit too involved for me to describe in step-by-step fashion. While it uses all native Quickbase (no code pages), it does involve URL formula buttons which have a little bit of syntax required. Realistically we would need to book an hour or two of consulting time to get this working to your satisfaction. If you have a small budget to work with then please contact me at mark.shnier@gmail.com and I would give you a no charge demo of what the look and feel would be like for a user experience and then you can decide if you wanted to go ahead with the project.
