Conundrum with desired realm change and existing QR codes

Our company was merged and we may consider updating our realm address. There are a number of places this becomes a bit of work, but the real issue is this: I have about 15000 QR codes stuck on equi...

You assume that it will b a problem, but it may not be. If I take a URL for a record like this

https://yqc.quickbase.com/db/xxxxxxx?a=td
and change the URL to

https://gesco.quickbase.com/db/xxxxxxx?a=td

Quickbase seems to ignore the the beginning of the URL and go by the table name and reverts the URL back to https://yqc.quickbase.com/db/xxxxxxx?a=td That seems to work as long as the Realms exists.

So as long as Quickbase retains your old old Realm and doesn't turn it off and then all those barcodes might still work. You may have to get into a discussion with somebody at Quickbase about that but give that a try or email me directly.

Give it a try. take any url and change from your own "mycompany" to my Realm which is yqc and watch what happens.

What do you mean by 'retains my old realm'. Meaning, somehow that realm is in their system as existing but just not connected to any account or tables? Or its a live realm with nothing in it?

What I mean that is if you have the wrong Realm, but the realm is a legitimate. Quickbase realm then it will work. But if you just change the mycompany part of the Realm to complete gibberish then the URL will fail.

  I tried it and got the results you did! It worked, as long as the realm 'existed'. What I need to find out from QB, is what it means for the realm to 'exist' - ie do they just need to create it, but can deactivate it from me being able to build on it? This way my QR codes work, but its not like they have provided me with two realms to build out.
