Qrew LegendThe value setting on that relationship is blank. Check the lookup field options and then the value from your screen shot. It's blank, but it should point at the Employee name field.
While you were definitely correct about the field value being blank in the relationship, I went ahead and changed this:

Checked, looks like it was already set that way:
