Share your feedback on the new Qrew Discussions

Hi All, I've started a discussion on the new experience.

Please share your feedback here on the new experience.

  • Discussion posts, comments, replies do not alert Users.

We are not seeing anything in email or on the Website alerts saying someone has posted a new discussion or replied to a discussion.

Hi All, I was out all last week but I'm back and expect to have some updates in this thread. Top of my priority list is to get the email preferences page error resolved, I've escalated to our vendor for help with this item.

Hey Jim, can you walk me through the steps you took to get to the above screenshot? Thanks!

Hi Ben, see image below. In the reply, at the bottom there are rich text options. Click Insert/Edit Code Sample. The pop-up that appears  has a drop down list to choose a type of language. The Quickbase Formula language is not an option. The JSON RestFul API language is also not an option.

Thanks Mark, I can check with vendor but I believe the intent is to create a designated space in each thread for a solution to be pulled out as a standalone space. It looks awkward when only one response is in the thread. Let me confirm if its working as designed or a bug and report back.

  • Any updates on notifications for posts you are following? In my opinion this should be the highest priority, as I have seen a huge decline in activity and responses/support since the new forum launched. I belive it is because none of us remember which posts we were helping with, and have a tough time finding them again.

Definitely my highest priority, or 1A to the 1B of the challenges we're having with google search and indexing to the correct site.

Latest we have heard is that the bug was identified, I am asking for updates pretty regularly on when we can expect the fix.

I'd agree its hurting the overall user experience and the volume of activity we've grown used to seeing. Kills me. Thanks for the continued patience here.

  • Ben, When I look at the list of Posts, I see Posts that say "1 unread".  ie it seems to be telling me there is a new response to that question which I have not read.  But the "unread post" is in fact my own answer!  That should not be counted as an unread post.

Let me submit that to our vendor, agreed that's a very odd calculation. Likely what happens is every response starts the counter and until you go back into the thread it shows as unread. But that's obviously not practical for the end user who just submitted.

  • "You can't there from here."  I cannot seem to find a direct link to the community.  From the ? in the menu bar--which is where I would expect the link to be -- you get this:

There should be link here to the community at "https://community.quickbase.com/"   Doing a search does not yield the right result, since it takes you into a specific inquiry and then you have to pop up to a top level.

ROBERTSACHS confirmed that in the future the new nav will have a similar experience to old nav, and confirmed the community link will pull to this current site.

ROBERTSACHS good news is with the New Nav turned on you don't see the above.

Clicking on the Community link in the new nav brings you to the community site here.

With the old nav, the right way to access Community is actually from the My Apps page:

The "?" is meant to be a de facto federated search that combines community articles, help articles, and release notes into one search, and it's specific to the old navigation experience. I'll have to check on what might be coming down the road with new nav.

  • When an answer is marked as a solution, it appears twice. It would be much cleaner if it just appeared once.
