Specifying the Report Used in Reminder Notification

I have a "Reminder" notification setup to trigger when a date field is after the value by a certain amount of days.  Is there a way to specify the report to use when sending this email?  Right now it is using the "Default Report", but I would like to change to a different report if possible.

Thanks

Brian

  • Reminders are pretty old and long in the tooth, and they work how they work. They only use the default report.

If you want to have more control then you need to set up a subscription report that mimics the timeframe of when the records should appear on the report and then you can use a Subscription or a new Custom notification that came out recently. In either case you can specify the report.

Hi Mark,  thanks for the response.   Using the "Subscription" or "Custom" notification options do I use the "Daily" option?  I am hoping the email will only send if there are records meeting the criteria for being on the report.

Yes, Daily. Both Subscriptions and The Custom Emails default to not sending blank reports.

  • Is there a way to view either of those to see how it looks?  Can I trigger the subscription manually to test it?

If you use the Legacy Subscription which is set to active Status with the green checkbox, then there is a button to send test Subscription.  You should receive the email in about a minute or two. I don't think that the custom emails have that functionality.
