Dates Table to classify a given date multiple ways with additional special "Broadcast Calendar" need
Hello everyone! New user, first post. I'm looking for help in building a table where each record will represent a unique date and additional fields will equate each of those dates to a Quarter, Fiscal Year, Actual Year, etc... I think I can get most of that done on my own, however, I'd like a field to equate that specific date to a week of a Broadcast Calendar. For anyone not familiar, the Broadcast Calendar works like this (via wikipedia, main points below), Every week in the broadcast calendar starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday. The key link between the broadcast and Gregorian calendars is that the first week of every broadcast month always contains the Gregorian calendar first of the month. For example, if January 1 falls on a Saturday, then the broadcast calendar year would begin on the preceding Monday, December 27. Days and weeks in a broadcast calendar are often referred to by number rather than name, as in Week 47, Day 3. I'd like to create a formula field that equates the day to the broadcast calendar equivalent of Year 2020, Week 47, Day3. This is not going to make or break my app and I'm in no rush, I just thought this was an interesting use-case that I should learn from. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. ------------------------------ -- Mike Freyder ------------------------------33Views0likes1CommentSorting Items on a Calendar
I am trying to sort events on a calendar alphabetically so the order will remain the same on each day, when a particular day(s) hasmultiple events. I have tried changing the default settings for reports but this has not fixed my issue. Below are the details of my calendar report. I have a field called Application/Tool and another field called Task. My calendar displays a third field which is a formula field that combines Application/Tool and Task into one field called Task - Calendar Label. I would like my calendar to display the events in alphabetic order by Application/Tool so the rows stay in the same order when there are multiple events on the same day or in the same block of days. Is there a formula I can use to accomplish this? In the example below, I would like the TSM event (yellow) for the 13th - 17th to appearlast oneach of thosedays. As a second example,if alphabetized, theOracle event (orange) would appear before the ORS events (blue) that begin on the 15th. Will (can) QB recognize the Oracle event happening on the 15th even though that isn't the start date for it? ------------------------------ Rachel Miller ------------------------------8Views0likes2CommentsCalendar Add-On
I'm contemplating QB partners for more robust scheduling options. I'm not even sure what is out there, but does anyone use anything they particularly like? Main look is for something with an easy interface that my managers could use (versus something the QB developer would mostly use), that allows for flexibility in calendars. Perhaps adding other events manually to particular calendars? ------------------------------ Mike Tamoush ------------------------------2Views0likes2CommentsSumming data for Calendar Report
Building a Calendar Report - Heat Map. I want to summarize all the data by day to show the "number of events each day." For example - Summarize damages by day of the week. Field name is "Date of Damage" How do I write the formula to sum the numbers of damages per day? I will then color-code the day of the week based on the rating of the damages. Hey Everyone, I'm obviously fairly new to QuickBase, I've managed to get my durations and dates converted to 'WorkDates' to include the Start Date and 'WeekDayAdd' so now my durations are "skipping" over the weekends. But I can't seem to figure out how to get accurate dates for a department working 4 - 10s! Is there something I can add for this department to ignore Fridays as well like WeekDayAdd does for weekends?? All my calculations and formulas are accurate up to this point to convert a number of hours into 10 hour days, then displaying days on a Calendar, but because Fridays are being included, this department will show it's due earlier then it actually is (Based on how many Fridays the duration passes through)... Is it possible to split the shading on a calendar event in 2 colors? Perhaps some way to write the code that says, 50% one color, 50% another? Or even better, do a gradient..... ------------------------------ Michael Tamoush ------------------------------0Views0likes3Comments
