Need The Maximum [Record ID#] of a Table
I have a formula that creates a copy of the existing record that a user is currently working on and it works great. I then refresh the screen to present the screen of the newly created record. var text RefreshRecord=URLRoot() & "db/" & Dbid() & "?a=dr&rid=" & [Clone Record ID#] $RefreshRecord All is good when the user is "cloning" the latest record in the table because I have a formula field in the table that adds 1 to the current [Record #ID] Essentially ... [Clone Record ID#] = [Record ID#] + 1 However, if the users decides to clone an earlier record in the table, it creates the new record just fine, but the [Clone Record ID#] is wrong because it's not referencing the "new" record, but rather the record right "after" the record the user chose to clone. So I want to change the field formula to something like [Clone Record ID#] = Max([Record ID#]) but I know it doesn't work that way in QuickBase. Please advise1like4CommentsSeeking interim quickbase support
Hello, I'm new here so please let me know if this is not an appropriate use of these discussions. The quickbase data coordinator is resigning from my company, and I am wondering if there are any resources for hiring temporary talent until the position can be replaced internally. Thanks0likes3CommentsDropdown list with Ratings?
I have a user request to track software skills for team members. They want a list of items, for example software packages, in a drop-down list. But - they also want a rating for each skill, from 1-5. So for example, they don't want to just know that John has experience with "QuickBooks" and "Xero" - they want to say he has "QuickBooks - Level 1 experience," and "Xero - Level 5 experience." And of course, they want to then be able to get a report of all team members with, for example, Xero experience level 3 and above. The list of systems could have 20 or so items, and I'm thinking there must be a better way to implement this than to have 20x5 items in the dropdown. Is it possible to list the 20 software packages, then a separate 1-5 ratings field, and somehow combine them to get a complete list of software experience, with the correct ratings attached, for each person?0likes3CommentsHow to split an Export file which is too big
I need to export port a file which has over 400 fields and years of data. When I try to export I get the following error. is there a way to split the data into chunks? I still need all the data, and would like to split in yearly chunks. Is there a simple way to do this? I am a total novice at this.0likes1CommentPipelines automation to change record owner
Good morning, In short, I have created a pipeline that triggers on an event inside 'record 1'. It then creates 'record 2'. 'Record 2' ends up being created/ owned by me, however, I would like to change that to the person who created/ owns 'Record 1'. I am open to all ideas and suggestions. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Shane Miller ------------------------------ Shane Miller ------------------------------0likes10CommentsPipeline - Build form from Record, that only populates with fields that meet criteria?
Is it possible to utilize Pipelines to build a form, that is keying off of field answers to questions already on that record? So say there are 50 questions, and for each question that is answered 'No' to (radio style button), the 'No' answered questions can be then generated onto a new form, that acts as an audit checklist? My thought was to have the New Checklist form be kicked off by a button, which the Pipeline can be looking at. But can the Pipeline create a form? Or can/will this need to be done through a different manner?0likes5CommentsForced to use new dashboards?
Whare are everyones thoughts on the new switch to Upgraded Dashboards? I had just spent a year making Dashboards (they are great), and now suddenly they upgraded the design (tabs on top and a bit of a different look). I like the new look, but I already built quite a few with the old look, and my users just got used to the tabs on the bottom. I am creating my last dashboard, and BOOM, it defaults and forces you to the new style (when creating a new dashboard). There is a cheat code (copy an old style dashboard), but this seems to be another example of Quickbase simply not listening to the end user any more. I do like the new design, and will likely eventually switch, but to force the issue immediately without warning, feels rough. It makes consistency in my apps very difficult. What do others think?1like11CommentsTest As Role URLs?
I have an app where I rely heavily on roles and role permissions to view certain data and forms. Because of this I need to test as a role when developing new roles to ensure the users cant access other roles data. Is there a way to get these "test as role XXX" as a callable URL I can map to a button on the admin dashboard? I want to use the custom branding setting in the app to hide the Quickbase standard menu options for all users so they can't try and get to the My Apps page in our realm. Is the custom URL to test as a role possible?1like0CommentsBest ways get up to speed on the structure of an existing Quickbase business app?
I need to get up to speed on the structure of an existing QuickBase business app that has 40+ tables. Then, move it over time into a managed design cycle. Any suggestions on ways to do this? Or been here, done that? Thanks! Keith I'm coming from perspective of small business CTO wanting to bring our app into a managed development structure. Coding-wise, coming from Visual Studio and compiled code dev. I'm new to QuickBase. I confess to a feeling of frustration as I browsed the app in the QB design tools. Perhaps because of an expectation to be able to see the structure and dependencies of our app called out in a taxonomy of sorts. Or, be able to export the structure to bring into outside tools. Just noticed the QBL - it sounds promising.0likes5Comments
