Mears Group is seeking a Systems Administrator will be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the Mears Group PMO database. Mears Group provides utility construction services across the United States. Mears Group develops and implements scalable systems and tools, tailored to meet operational goals specifically through its cloud-based system/database. The system is seen as a full cycle PMO Work Order Management System. The Systems Administrator will be involved in the planning, development and implementation of applications, as well as in troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the company. The Systems Administrator will ensure that: Data remains consistent across the system Data is clearly defined Users access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs Reports are produced to meet the needs of staff and clients Quality of data Responsibilities Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security Recommend and implement emerging system technologies and processes Consider both back-end organization of the data and front-end accessibility for end-users Set and maintain systems/database standards across the company and develop training tools to support the staff Make performance adjustments of the system Diagnose and troubleshoot system/database challenges Create and manage database reports and dashboards Create automation for repeating tasks Be available for support as needed Document new features and changes made to applications Research and help implement the integration of software tools the company utilizes. Skills The Systems Administrator will need to demonstrate: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Must be able to logically understand processes, priorities and goals of our system tools and build-outs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exceptional attention to detail Self-starter and team player Familiarity with the principles of database design Good organizational skills Flexible and adaptable The ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and customers Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. SGS Position announcement We are hiring a person with significant QuickBase experience as an Environmental Protection Specialist at the DC Government Department of Energy and Environment. This position is full-time with benefits, based in DC, has the option to work remotely 2 days per week (with lots of flexibility), and the salary range is $85-$109K. Work with the Green Infrastructure Incentives and Assessment Branch (GIIAB) to develop and refine QuickBase features in the agency's Surface and Groundwater System (SGS), https://doee.dc.gov/sgs, supporting stormwater, watershed protection, and water quality programs. Key responsibilities: 1. Develop new QuickBase applications and enhancements to existing applications. 2. Analyze program objectives to recommend system design to improve program operations. 3. Work with program staff to identify and draft development requirements. 4. Write complex formulas in QuickBase, Excel, or other data management systems. 5. Test and troubleshoot new features. 6. Design and run complex reports that draw information from related applications. 7. Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external help requests. 8. Draft system documentation and user guides. 9. If anyone is looking for a position, I'm hiring a Specialist, School Planning in DC Government. Full-time, based in DC, option to work remotely 2 days per week (with lots of flexibility), and salary range is $83-$94K. Work with the School Planning team for DC Public Schools (one of the fastest improving districts in the country!) as we do long-term planning. The Specialist, School Planning will have three core tasks: (1) Lead the development of 5-year enrollment projections for long-term planning and annual enrollment projections to inform school budgets. (2) Manage an application (QuickBase) used by district leadership and school principals to review and petition enrollment projections (3) Assess the impact of school choice initiatives. I'd love to find someone already familiar with QuickBase, but am also very willing to help someone grow in that area. More than anything, I'm looking for someone who may be motivated by a position with immediate impact - enrollment projections are a major element of determining school budgets.
